Takasu met the merman Wakasa several decades ago, and Wakasa has never been rid of him since. After Wakasa moved into Tatsumi's bathtum, Takasu was called there to give Tatsumi an octopus massage, and that's when Tatsumi first met Takasu. After Takasu accidentally sat on a small TV in the bathroom, Takasu fixed it and Tatsumi got him fried with the microwave. After lazing about Tatsumi's house for the rest of the day, Takasu tries to crawl into Tatsumi's laundry machine, and then gives the massage and leaves.

He's soon back, however, and then gets to hear a ghost story about a ghost in the park. The ghost is asking people for water. When Takasu takes a picture with Tatsumi's phone, something unexpected appears. The ghost, who turns out to be a guy the two non-humans already knows; the jellyfish Mikuni. When Wakasa and Takasu insults Mikuni offhandedly, Mikuni shocks them by touching them, and since Mikuni was shrinking, all three had to share the tub. It turned pretty awkward on all ends except Mikuni's. During lunch, Takasu and Wakasa fights over beef stew, and Mikuni asks for just water. After their meal, Mikuni leaves. Takasu and Wakasa offers up themselves for Tatsumi, to use as food, but Tatsumi declines the offer.

Then comes Halloween, and the three sea people trick-or-treats Tatsumi in the bathtub, wearing costumes Takasu made. Takasu loves the pumpkin, and they all get candy. When Tatsumi says he's never gone trick-or-treating, the three, who are much older than him, gives him candy too. After that, Tatsumi murders the pumpkin.

One day they decide to play karuta, Takasu sucks at it because he grabs 8 cards instead of 1 every time, so he has to sit out 8 rounds over and over.

Takasu decides that they're all going to a great place! Turns out the great place is Tatsumi's school's pool, and Takasu picks the lock so they can get in for a swim. Takasu and Tatsuumi push Wakasa into the pool, and while he's swimming, Mikuni and the seashell Maki shows up, only to, together with Takasu, get scared back onto land by the shark Agari.Takasu tries to make Tatsumi jion them in the pool, and tries to undress him, but Agari tries to keep up Tatsumi's pants because he doesn't want to see striped underwear. Which Tatsumi isn't wearing that day. Both octopus and shark gets hit for their actions. In the end, they all have super fun, even if Agari has to save Maki who got stuck. That did result in none of them being scared of Agari any more.

Wakasa, Takasu and Maki decide to try on glasses, but they just fog in the tub. They read (and cry over the story) and then write. Then they decide to paint, and Takasu paints the entire bathroom and Wakasa. After splashing too much water around, they're put to clean up.

One day, a starfish called Goroumaru moves in, and dubs Tatsumi his older brother. At new years, they all decide to help Tatsumi clean the house, and arms themselves with brooms and various other claning tools. Maki gets a satsuma on his shell, and mikuni eats a piece, which is visible, and Takasu turns that into a game. Then they take out the kotatsu, but when they use it, they all drie out and Tatsumi has to dump them in the tub again. All the sea folk drink sake to celebrate the new year. Next morning, they all get otoshidama from Tatsumi.

Next event is setsubun, and Tatsumi is going to be the oni and the others are going to throw beans at him to drive out bad luck. But in the end, they feel sorry for the oni, and doesn't throw beans at Tatsumi. Everyone applauds when tiny Maki manages to throw a bean into a bowl, though. When they eat ehoumaki, Agari eats his in one bite, even though it's a long roll.

They discuss what part-time job Tatsumi might have. None of them can imagine Tatsumi working a register at a convenience store. All other suggestions just gets weirder and weirder, like barista and host, and in the end, Tatsumi has to tell them. He works at a liquor store, and restocks shelves.

There are different ways of getting differently colored baths. Like taking them in things not water. Like milk, or different types of alcohol. And Takasu brings over stuff like that so they can all try it. To make sure Tatsumi can share the bath with them, they change it to normal water with bath coloring, though.

Wakasa reads in a women's magazine he follows that hosts are popular, and they all play host club on a teddy bear. Takasu is Arabian styled, Mikuni and Agari traditionally Japanese, Goroumaru Chinese, Maki plays the split personlaity type and Wakasa the King type. Agari makes them all embarrassed and Tatsumi decides to let it end with commentary on what they're doing wrong.

They sing karaoke, but the point system in the machine is broken, so Agari gives points instead. Takasu gets 40 points, and Maki wins with a render of You Give Love a Bad Name. Takasu and Tatsumi sing a duet and Wakasa uses his siren voice to make all the women in the street collapse. Though none of the karaoke singers are aware of that part.

Takasu and Mikuni show up to find the others in the tub. Takasu brought some peculiar miracle drinks, which gets mixed when they spill on the floor. Tatsumi's bathroom explodes and they have to put up an outdoor tub, in which Tatsumi tries to boil Takasu in.

Tanabata comes around, and they all write wishes. Agari talks for the first time in the series and scares everyone because of all his teeth. They all play around making decorations.

Takasu leaves his goldfish Akaonimaru in the tub one day, and since Wakasa isn't in the tub, Tatsumi thinks it's Wakasa who turned into a fish. Tatsumi gets mad when he finds out that Wakasa was outside in the outdoor tub.

Then Tatsumi gets sick, and they all try to take care of him. Wakasa makes Agari crush an apple with his arm, and Takasu feeds Tatsumi apple....juice. Takasu later feeds Tatsumi a special medicine that maes him crash onto a tiny Mikuni, and Mikuni has to be put in the tub. Tatsumi hides under his bedsheets and refuses to come out. He finds everyone sleeping by or in the tub when he wakes up later.

Ghost stories are great, and everyone decides to tell them. Takasu's idea, after he scared Wakasa and tatsumi. Mikuni starts, and scares everyone just by appearing by the candle, because he looks like a real ghost. Though Mikuni forgot what he was going to say so next up was Agari. He went ignored, though, since body language-told ghost stories aren't very scary. Then Maki tells of when he almost died, and after that, and then Goroumaru appears behind Takasu and scares him. Tatsumi takes Goroumaru to bed, and Takasu and Wakasa tells of a time they went treasure hunting and found a chest and skulls. Takasu had apparently caused things to move, and had scared Wakasa. Tatasumi sees a shadow (which likely is the crab Echizen) and says he saw a shadow, and when the light goes out, all of them hide in the tub, bottom ends sticking up.

Then comes the day for making a film. Takasu directs it, and they talk about how Agari insppired Jaws. They get to see photos of a tiny Tatsumi. The movie is about two sea people (Wakasa and Mikuni) who are dried out and takes a bath, only to find a shark in it. Maki and Goroumaru does a spy action scene and everyone feels so accomplished. Unfortunately, the lens of the camera had been covered up in fog and nothing was captured properly. Then they all break the 4th wall and talk about the anime being released in October.
